My Dukan Diet!
Last week a few friends of mine told me they were going to start a diet called the Dukan Diet. Some friends of there's had done it and had had fantastic results. I don't mind my weight but all the traveling we do I find it hard to resist certain things! (carbohydrate addict!) also sometimes when we travel there is nothing to eat but junk! Unfortunately I think I was born without will power and I don't seem to of grasped it over my 32 years so I am not it the right job with all the restaurants we have to go to!
I have tried to limit myself to calories and the didn't work too well and I have steadily over the last 18 months gained 18lbs. So Dukan to me sounded like something I could try and there was my goal, 18lbs!
I started it the day after I had a awful last round in Scotland which gave me a kick! Punishment!! My fridge full of meat, eggs, fat free yogurt and fish and of course oat bran. I was a little excited about eating the oat bran pancakes i had heard so much about and i made them with anticipation in the morning. Awful! This is going to be tough! Meat on it's own, awful. Very difficult 1st day, drinking fizzy water was the highlight until I got on the scales the next morning!
Wow, I'd lost 4lbs. All id eaten was oat bran, chicken, and other meats and drank coffee and water. 4lbs lost, this cant be bad, i thought I'd do the same, but not with the pancakes!!! I found a recipe for oat bran cookies and thought i can eat them with my coffee in the morning, perfect! Had some fat free fruit yogurt too which gave me flavour that I had started to crave!
3lbs gone again, 7lbs in two days, this is wrong, am I ill? this is too much. Is it? It's great though!!! for the first time ever i have the incentive to keep going and to say no to carbs. This is where the internet is great, i started reading dukan recieps and started getting adventurus. I made meatloaf and some oat bran muffins! Because of all the cooking, I did only eat proteins but alot of them, don't expect the same loss tomorrow
1lb lost. Going in the right direction feel happy not 3lbs again or I would be concerned that i was wasting away! (i wish!) Had my muffin and coffee for breakfast but still hungry after gardening and was going to practice so had some ham, smoked salmon and eggs. Feel better after that and a day on the range had gone well, working on what my coach had given me the day before. Had to be good for dinner as had one cup of coffee at my mums with whole milk in it, my 1st cheat, have to stay away from mums, too much nice things!
