Time go's so fast while on tour, I didn’t realise that nearly 3 weeks have passed! Up & down 3
weeks too! 2 missed cuts and am now in Spain having made the cut and final round
tomorrow. I love playing golf in Spain, the courses suit me very well, we were
trying to think how we would describe them and all I can say is I think they are
positionally challenging!! Which suits my game just fine! looking back at the Austrian open I was so frustrated, I do think the courses suited the longer hitters but I never found
it an issue to still play well. I am missing too many putts and then making
a few mistakes that I don’t recover from and end up over par! I just can’t
afford to do th on the LET now. The standard is improving each year and it
just means this winter I need to go away and find a way I can compete. Is it
length off the tee? It would help and defiantly an improvement on the putting.
When I had such a good year in 2008 and Mark Roe called me one of the best
putters he had ever seen I found it hard to cope with. people would come up to
me all the time telling me and expecting me to hole putts and a little of my
natural stroke left me, the more I tried to get the ball in the hole, the worse
it got!!! Now all I am trying to do is start the ball on my intended line and am
getting there.
I get to play with a great friend Becky Brewerton tomorrow, am gutted for her on missing out on the Solheim, she had worked so hard and been so consistent all year, I love playing
with her and watching her ball striking tomorrow will be fun.
Have a week off next week and then nearly the end of the ladies european tour year and I will
post more thoughts on it but for now I need to keep working hard and get back
some of the spark that I have lost.
